Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Loans for CCC Students, Staff, & Faculty

Want a book, article, or some other item that our library doesn't have?  Request an interlibrary loan!  We'll find a library that has the item that you'd like, and that library will send the item to us for you to borrow.  Interlibrary loans for CCC students, staff, and faculty are free of charge (in most cases).  Ask the library staff member at the circulation desk for more information.

Interlibrary Loans for the Public

The Dora Badollet Library (CCC Library) provides interlibrary loan services to citizens of Clatsop and Pacific counties who are current patrons of the library.  Cost to become a library patron is $5 for three months or $20 for a year.

The cost for each interlibrary loan request is $5.  This fee is due at the time of the request (payable by check or cash).  This fee is not refundable if the library cannot obtain the item, and does not cover any possible additional costs in borrowing material.  (The CCC Library loans materials to other requesting libraries at no charge.  However, many libraries do not.)  Remember that an additional fee may incur while obtaining your requested material.

Patrons who lose or damage interlibrary loan materials will be charged according to the fees of the lending library.

What items can you request through Interlibrary Loan?

You may request books, journal/magazine/newspaper articles, and audio-visual material.  There's no garuantee that we can get everything that you request, but we'll try.  So that we can maintain our sanity, however, please keep your requests to a maximum of three per visit.  Thanks!

What items do we send to libraries requesting interlibrary loan from us?

We send just about everything except items from our Reserve and Reference sections.  We do limit requests to 3 containers or half a series of the audio-visual materials, such as VHS, DVDs, audiobooks, etc.
